Urgench Innovation University held a round table on “Against Ignorance — with Enlightenment!” and “The Priority of Human Dignity and Rights Is the Foundation of Progress”.
Speakers included R. Sobitov, Deputy Governor of Khorezm Region; O. Vaisov, chief specialist of the Committee on Religious Affairs for Urgench city; G‘. Matsapayev, adviser to the rector; X. Davletov, head of the Division of Youth Affairs, Spirituality and Enlightenment; and crime prevention inspector Major M. Berdiyev.
The speakers stressed that loyalty and devotion to the Homeland in every person's heart is the highest sign of patriotism. They noted that loving, defending and cherishing the Homeland requires great moral courage. They also emphasized that ignorance aimed against spirituality leads people to complacency, and indifference to apathy, and that constant vigilance is needed to stay away from such vices.
Participants also said that no force can defeat a people with high spiritual values, firm faith and loyalty to national values, that young people should read more, that an educated person will never be left behind, and that we must not be indifferent to what is happening around us.
The following words of Shavkat Mirziyoyev were also quoted:
“We regard spiritual and educational work as a matter of patriotism and conscience. A person with conscience and spirituality certainly loves the Homeland. Conscience and spirituality mean serving the people and the Homeland with all one's heart. The fact that this view is widely and warmly supported by all our people, especially young people, shows how relevant spiritual education is.”
