Urgench Innovation University held a round table on “Combating the Illegal Trafficking of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances”.

At the event, held on the initiative of M. Davletova, head of the university's Information Resource Center, speakers included D. Eshchanov, a doctor at the Khorezm regional branch of the narcology service of the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Mental Health; J. Zaripov, an officer of the Khorezm Regional Department of Internal Affairs; and I. Matsapayeva, head of the legal information sector of the M. Zamakhshari Information and Library Center.

The specialists focused on preventing the spread of drugs and psychotropic substances, promoting a healthy lifestyle, stepping up prevention work especially among young people, combating the illegal trafficking of psychotropic substances and building public resilience against this vice.

They also stressed the importance of organizing meaningful leisure for the younger generation, preventing drug addiction, and the fact that everyone is responsible for their own life and the fate of their loved ones.
